Good shout Jonathan though I do marvel at the fact that Arteta has hardly bought any attackers in his tenure…what’s that all about? He’s talked about needing more firepower then bought another defender or midfielder. I think it’s his Achilles heel and he should probably do some reflection about it. For all we’ve scoffed at Chelsea buying all the attackers look at them now. Look at Liverpool or the attacking brio of Liverpool. Can do much better on that front and must.

Could it be that Arteta sees winning as a consequence of control? That somewhere in his psyche he is adverse to uncertainty and risk? Could it be that he sees the game in terms of levels of control, and that something about the late attacking phase doesn't seem to settle comfortably in his mind? In the post where I say he built the team from the back to the front, I think he is somewhat orientated toward defense, in comparison to say, Wenger who was orientated to attack.

I saw that Amy Lawrence wrote about George Graham being defensively minded, then bought Wright who kinda flipped the balance toward attack. She was saying, I think, that Arteta should do something similar. Maybe she's right, (if only it were so easy) but I especially liked the Graham comparison. There is a touch of George's old school about Arteta. I just hope Mikel doesn't accept any brown paper bags ;)

A really good point and I read and liked Amy’s article. I agree and think another chaos agent in the mould of Eze or Kudus could be the answer. As for the brown paper bags shhhh haha. I actually thought Graham had died a whole back so imagine my surprise to see him at a recent game at the Emirates lol

To be fair to you Ben, Graham looks like he's recently died, so easy mistake to make ;)

I like the chaos agent idea, absolutely, now we just have to wait for Arteta to go for it. The way the season is going it might be worth spending in January instead of waiting...let's see.
