Man Jonathan! Well put. I wasn't downcast at the end at all. I was suprised and disappointed at the 1st 25 minutes for sure but the team picked itself up, shook itself off and went at it. I do think we sorely missed Partey in the middle though as without the presence of Merino up front and Declan given a freer role to rampage (which he did a few times superbly last night by the way ) we lacked something up front. I love Trossie but he doesn't have the physicality of a Haavertz or Merino to trouble their CBs. He still came within a whisker though....Just that clinical edge was missing and Donnarumma (a human proboscis monkey if ever I saw one). As you say on to Paris. I dunno...I just have a feeling about the rematch. The Arsenal Remontada is on haha
Excellent comment Ben, I couldn't agree more. I was kinda shocked by the fluid pinging PSG managed in the first 20 minutes, and it took a while for Arsenal to shake themselves off, but all is in the balance I reckon, this tie is far from over.
Interesting how much Partey imporves the shape of the team. I reckon a contract extension for Partey to help bed Zubamendi in is essential. Agree about Trossard too. He's like a Wenger throwback that doesn't quite have the power needed. Tricky and smart but sometimes you need a bulldozer too.
Hope Ødegaard has more influence in Paris. But as you say, the Remontada mat well e ours to enjoy. As long as the proboscis returns to human form lol!!
